POSITION SUMMARY
The Office Supervisor/Marketing Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Small Business Development Center while coordinating marketing initiatives to enhance the organization's visibility and drive growth. This dual role requires strong leadership skills to ensure efficient workflow and maintain a productive office environment. In addition, to developing and implementing marketing strategies, manage social media accounts, create promotional materials, and analyze market trends to effectively position the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS
Program Innovation
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS (95%)
•Independently manage internal and external strategies and content for all marketing channels:
o Social media (Facebook and Instagram):
§ Identify target audiences
§ Determine and maintain brand voice
§ Create original organic content (images, videos, and text)
§ Engage with existing and potential followers
§ Respond to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner
§ Manage and review the analytics of each platform to ensure progress
o Email Marketing:
§ Source content internally (center events) and externally (community events)
§ Format, proofread, and edit
§ Segment audiences and create A/B tests to increase open rate
§ Manage contact lists and bounces to ensure accurate lists
o Events (internal):
§ Coordinate with speakers (scheduling, promotion, documentation)
§ Manage registration processes
§ Measure outcomes
§ Provide reports to stakeholders
o Events (external):
§ Engage with the community by representing the Center at events
o General:
§ Write copy for other marketing initiatives such as TREND articles, event descriptions, and mass communications to clients and stakeholders.
§ Develop talking points, presentations, and content for the Director and Consultants to use externally.
•Manage various projects such as the center's Referral List, media interviews, special events, etc.
•Manage all Center client onboarding/scheduling processes

•Provides equity-minded support in the Small Business development Center Division that aligns with the college's values.
•Embraces and promotes the college's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals and supports the SBDC Division's efforts to utilize inclusive best practices.
•Provides equity-minded services and support for students, faculty, and staff.
Holistic Student Support
•Ensure clients have access to the tools and resources necessary to start, grow, close or sell their business.
Fiscal Stewardship
•Oversee budget expenditures; maintain financial records; ensure accurate reporting of all budgetary items
•Prepare work/supply orders, requisitions, and invoices as needed
Teaching Excellence and Program Innovation
•Ensure online modules and educational materials are up to date and accessible. Ensure seminar presenters are prepared and have access to all materials necessary.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree: Work Experience: Three Years full-time work experience including marketing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
Work Experience: Five years full-time work experience with a focus on marketing
Salary: Commensurate with experience and according to salary guidelines of the Tennessee Board of Regents.
