Responsibilities
• Issue referrals for the client to dental specialists, such as pediatric dentists, orthodontists, endodontists, and periodontists when appropriate• Implement and coordinate preventive dental care treatments such as flossing, fillings, sealants, x-rays, and fluoride applications, and cosmetic dental services such as whitening when indicated• Conduct work that is compliant with office policies and procedures; safety, OSHA, and MSDS guidelines; and infection and infectious diseases control standards• Examine the patients' teeth thoroughly using diagnostic tools, procedures, and instruments to spot signs of dental diseases and determine the overall state of dental health• Identify oral diseases and provide appropriate treatment for common dental problems including cleanings, restoration, root canals, and surgical extractions• Show patients how to use recommended devices for orthodontics and dental appliances, such as retainers and dentures and educate on the importance of good oral hygiene• Perform work that is in compliance with infection and infectious diseases control standards; office policies and procedures; and safety, OSHA, and MSDS guidelines• Recommend and perform preventive dental care treatments such as flossing, fillings, sealants, x-rays, and fluoride applications, and cosmetic dental services such as whitening when indicated• Refer patient to dental specialists such as pediatric dentists, orthodontists, endodontists, and periodontists when appropriate• Inspect the patients' teeth thoroughly using diagnostic tools, procedures, and instruments to identify any areas of dental diseases and determine the overall state of dental health
Qualifications
• Completion of AEGD/GPR or a minimum of 1-2 years of General Dentistry experience, preferred• Experience with restorative, crown & bridge work, and simple extractions, highly preferred• North Carolina Dental License, REQUIRED• 2+ years in clinical or private practice dentistry experience is required• Strong bedside manner and great communication skills are necessary• Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in General Dentistry• Additional certifications required: CPR, BLS, and NPI• Relevant knowledge of dental standards and guidelines, public health standards, and dental medicine trends and advances is an asset• Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in Dentistry• Current and unrestricted state license in good standing• Strong bedside manner and great communication skills are necessary• Additional certifications required: CPR, BLS, and NPI• Familiarity with computers
