Qualitative Research Coordinator
Job Summary
Conducts research assessments on study participants. Assists with and adheres to Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols. Assists with training staff. Ensures adherence to protocols and corrects issues with data collection.Essential Functions
The qualitative research coordinator will play a critical role in executing qualitative research methods to support multiple complex research and quality improvement projects. This position requires expertise in qualitative research methods, including in-depth interviews, focus groups, free-listing and pile-sorting, participant observation, participatory mapping, and photo voice.Key responsibilities include recruiting participants, conducting interviews and focus groups, assisting in the development of codebooks for qualitative data analysis, performing coding and analysis, and reporting findings with a focus on crafting actionable recommendations to improve policies and programs. This role involves creating detailed reports and presentations for key stakeholders, delivering presentations at professional conferences, and writing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.The incumbent will also ensure compliance with human subjects and IRB protections, adhering to the University of Pittsburgh's personnel policies and standards.Physical Effort
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary.
