The Company Planning and Strategic Analytics Analyst is responsible for providing data driven insights to support business decision-making across the organization. The analyst will champion the advancement of the company using these analytics, improving existing processes and offering new and innovative tools and insights to support effective decision making. This person will work on projects with cross-functional partners such as Pricing and Promotions, Merchandise Planning, Store Operations, Finance, Marketing/E-commerce and IT.
Responsibilities
Company Planning:Support and maintain advanced financial planning model used in the budgeting, reforecasting and long-range planning processSupply monthly, weekly, and daily sales, margin and KPI plans to all areas of the companySupport omni-channel inventory management through accurate forecasting and modeling, ensuring alignment with the financial planning processPerform presentations to communicate analytical findings and make recommendations with a focus on "what it means" and "actions" to considerStrategic Analytics:
Answer complex business questions by using appropriate statistical techniques on available data or designing and running experiments to gather data/intelligenceDesign and implement analytics to help understand and predict customer demand patterns across various business scenariosSupport cross-functional teams through advanced analytics and reporting, helping to design and enhance automated reports and dashboards to inform decision makingUtilize the advanced capabilities of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel Power Pivot Tables and Power BI, to supply leadership with dynamic dashboardsRespond to ad hoc planning and analysis requests as appropriateSupport key initiatives and strategies through reporting and analyticsIdentify business opportunities and provide solutions through reporting and analyticsPresent key findings and data to senior level managementQualifications
Bachelor's degree in data science, data analytics, statistics, or related field1-3 years of analytical experience in Retail, CPG, Sales, and/or MarketingAdvanced level skill in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPointDemonstrated proficiency in R programming for data analysis, statistical modeling and process automation; able to build advanced data models using RStrong knowledge of statistical concepts and statistical analysis toolsAbility to learn quickly and gain knowledge independentlyAbility to use time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion datesAbility to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement within analytics processesDesire to learn and grow within a business environment that is fast paced and requires knowledge of all aspects of the business
Requirements & EEO Statement
The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 annually. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to position offered and work experience. In addition to your salary, SPARC Group, and its affiliated brands, offers a benefits package, including 401(k) plan, overtime pay, flexible work schedule and a generous employee discount program (all benefits are based on eligibility).
