At Brown Brothers Harriman, we serve the most sophisticated individuals and institutions with expertise in Private Banking, Investment Management, and Investor Services.Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting an entry level FX Data and Analytics Analyst to join our Foreign Exchange team.Position Summary:The FX Data and Analytics team sits in the Foreign Exchange Trading Department located at our Firm’s global headquarters in New York. The team is responsible for all data initiatives for the department, maintaining and continuously evolving a state-of-the-art data environment. We predominantly use KDB+ and Python and are looking for a recent graduate with good technical data skills and a genuine interest in financial markets. This is an opportunity for a candidate with a passion for data to work in a front office trading environment and evolve our extensive analytics that span the entire Foreign Exchange business. This role is hands on where you will actively use data tools (python/SQL/KDB/Qlik/Spotfire) to automate and solve data problems for our business. As a graduate you will be given training in FX and across our product continuum as such you will build a solid knowledge of foreign exchange trading at BBH. The role will give you exposure to trading, etrading, relationship management, product and risk depending on the data initiative you work on. Projects include but aren't limited to Transaction Cost Analysis, Performance Attribution, Business Intelligence, Data Science and Business Modelling.Candidate Opportunities and Responsibilities:Support, maintain and extend the existing KDB data plant for FX business analytics & business intelligence needsBe an owner and work with stakeholders from trading, etrading, relationship management, product and risk on new data science initiativesContinue development of tools for backtesting and simulating model performanceAssess and execute internal and external requests for FX data; determine optimal software tools and methods for automationAssist in formulating solutions to meet BBH and our client needsPlay an important role in assuring FX data integrity; help improve the dynamic mix of referential FX data across our enterpriseBe consistently alert to current FX industry initiatives and data technology trends that impact BBHCandidate Qualifications include:4 year college degree from an accredited institution, or a 4 year financial degree with a dual in a data discipline like data analytics, data science, statistics or math from an accredited institutionKnowledge of one or more a plus R, Python, SQL, KDB, Advanced Excel, and BI toolsSolid Math and StatisticsAcademic background in Machine Learning, Data Science or Data Analytics a plusStrong interpersonal and communication skillsFirst class organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilitiesGenuine interest in the global financial marketsWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, genetic information, creed, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other protected status under federal, state or local law.Salary Range$75,000 - $95,000
