Advanced and Minimally Invasive Surgery at NYP Brooklyn Methodist continues a proud tradition. Surgical ICU PAs cover a range of Surgical Specialty with work in areas including General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Trauma, ENT, Orthopedics, Urology and other surgical patients requiring acute care.The per diem surgical ICU PA is part of a comprehensive team covering surgical patients admitted to the hospital. PAs serve as front line providers rounding with surgical attendings, writing notes, orders, and performing necessary bedside procedures. PAs cover the Surgical ICU Monday through Friday day shift only, with no night, weekend, or holiday coverage expected. Depending on the staffing needs, the per diem surgical ICU PA might be asked to perform surgical floor duties, do consults, or cover OR.Preferred Criteria-At least one year of experience in surgical or critical care medicineRequired Criteria-Bachelor's or Masters in Physician Assistant related studies-NYS PA Licensure-Current NCCPA Certification-ACLS/BLS-NYS Infection Control certification-DEA Certification with NYS Opioid Prescriber training complianceJoin a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
