Assembly Technician

Novel Microdevices is seeking a Laboratory Technician to help manufacture components of a new medical device. Under direct supervision, the selected candidate produces, cleans, and assembles plastic components per assembly SOPs, and performs other laboratory activities and maintenance.
You will be provided with production plans for medical testing components and be expected to accurately and repeatably assemble components from delicate parts in a clean room. The technician must pay attention to detail and take ownership of the quality of their work.
After initial training, the assembly technician should be able to operate independently with minimal instruction. The assembly technician must be able to communicate any issues they encounter in the assembly process. The technician must be flexible enough to adapt to rapidly changing procedures without losing their attention to detail.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Follow documentation procedure (filling out Data History Records (DHRs), reading and understanding instructions from Work Release (WR), Planned Deviation Report (PDR), or Non-Conformance Report (NCR). Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Manufacturing Work InstructionsMaintain dry room and cleanroom standards, practices, and housekeeping according to standard operating procedures.Cut and clean plastic parts using proper technique to support biological sample contactAssemble layered parts following a detailed assembly protocol in a clean environmentInspect (visual and using inspection tools) raw materials and well as finished products. Perform in-process inspection of components and assemblies to verify quality conformancePerform other duties as assigned such as laboratory maintenance, record keeping, packing, and storing inventory, etc.Understand and adhere to safety policies and practicesClean and maintain equipment and work area as needed.Use tools such as microscopes, tweezers, and other hand-held tools.Recognize any minor issues with the equipment and any affiliated documentation and take appropriate corrective action within scope. Notify Supervisors and Leads of issues and discrepancies immediately.REQUIRED SKILLS:
Experience in clean room assembly or Manufacturing in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech industry, or equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong working skills with your handsDetail-orientedCommunicate effectively both orally and in writingCompetent in Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to solve basic math problemsDESIRED SKILLS:
Experience working in a clean and regulated setting related to medical device assemblyEDUCATION:
Associate's degree in engineering or related with 2+ years of experiencePHYSICAL ABILITY:
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours. Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motionsAbility to work directly with, handle, or come into contact with chemicals or reagents
