As a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), you will administer respiratory care to patients by the attending physician. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, therapy.You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanically ventilated patientsYou will administer and monitor respiratory care treatmentsYou will record pertinent information in patient's medical recordYou will perform noninvasive and invasive diagnostic tests and monitoringYou will perform cleaning, preventative maintenance and calibration of respiratory care equipment as requiredYou will function as respiratory care protocol assessorJob QualificationsExperience1-3 years of experienceAcute care hospital experience - preferredEducationHigh School graduate or equivalentGraduate of approved respiratory certification program or sufficient college credits to qualify for certification exam - preferredLicenses and CertificationsCertified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license by the State of TexasRegistered Respiratory Therapist exam must be taken and passed within 6 months of hireBasic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David's HealthCare policyAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as per St. David's HealthCare policyPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification as per St. David's HealthCare policySt. David's Medical Center
