Occupational Therapist (OTR) Qualifications:
Successfulcompletion of the academic requirements of an educational program inoccupational therapy recognized by the Board of Occupational TherapyPractice. Such program shall beaccredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association's AccreditationCouncil for Occupational Therapy Education, or its successorMustbe licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as an occupationaltherapist in the state of FloridaPrior experience in Occupational TherapyMember of state and national American OccupationalTherapy AssociationProfessional attitude and appearanceProficientadministrative and public relations skillsThoroughknowledge of the principles, methods, materials and equipment used inoccupational therapyThoroughknowledge of the possible hazards to patients during treatment and necessaryprecautionary and remedial measuresAbilityto establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and toobtain their cooperation in the treatment prescribedAbilityto establish and maintain effective relationships with the medical staff andother personnelAbilityto understand, interpret, and adopt a physician's written or oral directionsand to recommend treatment programs and outline expected benefits regardingoccupational therapyDemonstrateemotional stability in order to cope with the demands of both patients andemployeesMustmaintain patient and employee confidentialityKnowledgeof Medicare and third party reimbursement, preferred
