Physical Therapist (PT) Qualifications:Successfulcompletion of the academic requirements of an educational program in physicaltherapy which has been approved for the educational preparation of physicaltherapists by the appropriate accrediting agency recognized by the Commissionon Recognition of PostsecondaryAccreditation or the United States Department of Education at the time of heror his graduation and have passed, to the satisfaction of the board, theAmerican Registry Examination prior to 1971 or a national examination approvedby the board to determine her or his fitness for practice as a physicaltherapistMustbe licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as a physical therapist inthe state ofPrior experience in Physical Therapy, preferredMember of state and national American Physical TherapyAssociation, preferredProfessional attitude and appearanceProficientadministrative and public relations skillsThoroughknowledge of the principles, methods, materials and equipment used in physicaltherapyThoroughknowledge of the possible hazards to patients during treatment and necessaryprecautionary and remedial measuresAbilityto establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and toobtain their cooperation in the treatment prescribedAbilityto establish and maintain effective relationships with the medical staff andother personnelAbilityto understand, interpret, and adopt a physician's written or oral directionsand to recommend treatment programs and outline expected benefits regardingphysical therapyDemonstrateemotional stability in order to cope with the demands of both patients andemployeesMustmaintain patient and employee confidentialityKnowledgeof Medicare and third party reimbursement, preferred
