The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking a Division Chief of Pediatric Genetics. This physician leader will play an integral role in the Department of Pediatrics by leading administrative, clinical, and educational activities for the division and serving on the Department executive team. With the opening of the new Children's Hospital in 2024, the division chief will play an important role in re-establishing the position of the division as market leader in the region and in planning the expansion of outreach services across the state.The Division Chief's responsibilities include:Leading the division's clinical, research and educational servicesFostering the growth and expansion of Pediatric Genetics programsExpanding both the clinical and interdisciplinary research programsSupervision of Division staff including physicians, Advanced Practice Professionals, and support staffAbout MU Healthcare:In the past decade, MU Health Care is the market leader in our 25-county service area with a total population of 800,000 and growing. Minimum Qualifications:MD/DOBoard certified in GeneticsCandidates will be evaluated on:Demonstrated success in leadership rolesThe ability to lead a diverse group in clinical, research, and teaching programsWork collaboratively with hospital and academic department partnersAbility to successfully mentor junior facultyA commitment to excellence in patient careExperience with Strategic Growth, Budgeting, and Resource Management
