Reporting to the Manager, Finance & Accounting, the Staff Accountant will perform and oversee a wide range of accounting duties that include, but are not limited to, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciling accounts, performing month-end and year-end closing functions, depositing checks, and processing and coding invoices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Process accounts payable and manage vendor documentationRecord the credit card transactions and ensure the backups are validAssist with recording revenue and accounts receivable transactionsDepositing and recording the paper checksPrepare and record day-to-day and month-end journal entriesReconcile the balance sheet accounts, including investments, cash, receivables, payables, deferred revenue, prepaids, fixed assets, etc.Liaise with vendors on issues related to payables and vendor creditsLiaise with membership and other departments on issues related to revenue and receivablesAssist with preparation and coordination of the year-end close, preparing audit schedules and IRS Form 990Support the annual budget and mid-year re-forecasting processesEnsure the GL, payables, and receivables are in compliance with GAAPAssist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and proceduresAssist manager with special projects and analysesPerform other related duties as assigned or requestedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

A thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting database, Bill.com, cloud-based expense systemsExperience with Salesforce, and relational databases is preferredStrong MS Excel[KL1] [KL2] skills and MS Outlook proficiencyExcellent oral and written communication skills, including correct use of grammar, editing and proofreading skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating with all levels within an organizationExceptional interpersonal skills, including focused listening skillsAbilities to:

Manage multiple deliverables in a dynamic environmentMeet regular deadlines and reprioritize quicklyEffectively work and collaborate in a hybrid environment using Teams, Zoom or other collaboration softwareHandle highly sensitive information diplomatically and maintain confidentialityRelate to and work cooperatively with staff, committee members, and auditors while exhibiting a high-level of customer serviceWork collaboratively with outsourced accounting resources to complete work in a timely, accurate and efficient mannerCollaborate with team members across the organizationThrive in a dynamic work environment
