Title: Senior Financial Analyst/Grants Accountant

Job Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst/Grants Accountant handles various aspects of financial analysis, general and grant accounting to include administering and processing cash transactions, accounts receivable, reconciliation, and producing various accounting and financial reports.
Essential Functions:
1. Manage and maintain the daily activities of the organization to include:
a. Daily cash reconciliation
b. Prepare, record and analyze general ledger account entries monthly.
c. Maintain subsidiary accounts; prepare trial balance and reconciling entries.
d. Process bi-weekly payroll transmissions within ADP Workforce and timekeeping system; reconcile and record entries within the general ledger.
e. Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule; facilitate and complete monthly close procedures.
f. Assist with budget development and the analysis of monthly financial statements, report on variances.
2. Responsible for grant accounting functions, preparation of required grant reports and financial documentation maintenance
a. Maintain and reconcile grantor monthly/quarterly invoice submission.
b. Monitor and track work hours to ensure reported work time commensurate with the requirements of the grant and organization policies; prepare journal entries ensuring time tracking is properly allocated to grant projects.
c. Draw down funds as incurred for timely reimbursement to the organization
d. Analyze trends in budget expenditures, make recommendations for streamlining costs or program improvements.
e. Prepare and distribute financial and cost reports to grant funding sources, internal departments and stakeholders; prepare federal, state, and other financial information for grant funding sources
f. Review reports for consistency, accuracy and compliance with funding sources
g. Review compliance reports and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
3. Oversee grant compliance and processes; monitor compliance with grant contracts and government guidelines, ensuring compliance with funding source and administrative guidelines. Ensure timely receipt of revenue, accurate submission of financial reports, audits, and orderly closure of project.
4. Assist with financial, tax and grant audits.
5. Continuously identify and implement work process improvements to streamline accounting methods and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
6. Assist business partners as it relates to grant project activity and reporting; communicate with federal grant personnel to ensure compliance with program reporting requirements and deadlines
Nonessential Functions:
1. Maintain aged receivables and resolve outstanding issues.
2. Process cash receipts and reconciliation of direct deposits within the operating account.
3. Maintain a filing system in accordance to company policies and accepted accounting practices.
4. Assist in resource management of company's cash flow.
5. Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
6. Assist in resolving audit issues assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
7. Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelors and/or Master's degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
Substitutions
