General Position Description:

The Credit Risk Senior Consultant will work in the Consulting Department in support of a contract with the Small Business Administration (SBA) to perform Lender Oversight Reviews. The Credit Risk Senior Consultant works on a team with other consultants responsible for commercial loan file review activities of various financial institutions in support of SBA’s 7(a) Guaranteed Loan Program. The Consultant must complete a background check and obtain an SBA security clearance.

As a Credit Risk Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for:

Performing SBA 7a loan file reviews and writing reports

Working closely with the SBA on the various types of loan reviews of SBA Lenders

Providing loan review services and consulting with lenders on credit-related matters

Making and sustaining meaningful client relationship

Supervising, training and reviewing the work of other consultants

Managing key aspects of client service projects from planning to completion

Becoming a trusted advisor to client management by providing appropriate recommendations and solutions

Supporting proposal and business development activities by identifying new target clients, building business relationships with key executives, developing proposals

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

10 years’ experience working in financial institutions or regulatory supervisory institutions with an emphasis on SBA

Deep understanding of SBA lending or SBA underwriting, specifically the SBA 7a program and working knowledge of 7a SOPs

Understanding credit processes, such as loan origination and underwriting; credit policies; portfolio management; loan review and remediation

Thorough knowledge of federal and state banking laws related to credit risk

Prior experience should include progressive responsibilities, including supervising and reviewing the work of others, and project management, including self-management of simultaneous work-streams and responsibilities

Strong written and verbal communication and comprehension both formally and informally to our client and our team, in a variety of formats and settings, including in interviews, meetings, calls, e-mails, reports, process narratives, presentations, etc.

Direct and deliver value to client through project management, creation of deliverables, and knowledge transfer

A self-starter who can prioritize multiple tasks, be resourceful, and able to research and find solutions

Write and present to client clear and concise reports and presentations containing meaningful recommendations

Supervision and Guidance:

The Credit Risk Senior Consultant will report directly to the Project Manager. The Consultant is expected to perform assignments with minimal supervision where procedures have been established, know when to consult with the Project Manager on complex tasks, and refer to SBA regulations and other written directives as necessary.

Environment:

Office setting that requires extensive computer usage, sitting, and excellent business communication.

Clearance:

Salary

Salary at Williams Adley is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is between $80,000 - $90,000 based on experience, skills, and certifications. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Williams Adley’s total compensation package for employees.

Work Week: Monday – Friday, 8 hours a day; some evening and weekend hours may be required to fulfill client expectations and deliverables.
