PURPOSE OF JOB : The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for assessing students and providing appropriate treatment to meet individualized student objectives and provide recommendations for school needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Administer evaluations to children referred for O.T. services as assigned.Assist in IE development for children receiving O.T. services.Provide consultative services to teachers of children receiving evaluations.Provide direct therapy services.Reevaluate and write progress reports annually.Complete all required forms for Medicaid billing.Maintains appropriate records for all children receiving O.T. services.Provide recommendation and support (as needed) for parents of children in Special Education.Be knowledgeable of Federal, State, and Local policies/procedures relating to IDEA.Attend staff meetings.Supervise students as assigned.Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current State of Missouri Occupational Therapy License.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Length of work year: Up to 25 Hours per week; 5 days/week; 185 days calendar
Benefits: Health and Dental Insurance are provided.
KCPS Defined Benefit Pension plan - mandatory 8.5% contribution increasing to 9.0% January 1, 2016 is required from employee and matched by KCPS; Voluntary retirement savings plans are also available.
