What you’ll be doing
The Treasury Management Sales Advisor is responsible for the development and retention of Treasury Management relationships for the Property Manager division within Commercial Banking. The Advisor partners with the Property Manager relationship managers in a consultative selling role and is responsible for meeting annual sales goals, sales activity targets around calls and other metrics, and developing and executing a strategy to retain and enhance existing relationships. The Advisor will serve as the primary contact for Treasury Management and seek to become a trusted advisor through regular client contact and relationship building. Other responsibilities include collaborating with CIBC teammates to fulfill client requests, assist in the onboarding process, and attend industry events to maintain current market knowledge and client relationships. The Advisor will exhibit autonomy in managing clients, quarterly call plans and pipeline, requiring minimal involvement from management. As an experienced team member, this Advisor will be expected to act independently, share knowledge and market experience with peers and junior team members, and participant in general Treasury Management initiatives.
How you'll succeed
Relationship building - Make an impact in your community and show clients they’re appreciated by engaging in marketing and outreach activities. Actively monitor and manage the relationship with a client by fully understanding their goals, objectives and status of the client’s business.
Business development - Develop new client relationships through your business development activities, leveraging referral sources, existing clients and centers of influence. Identify and actively call on prospective clients.
Teamwork - Work with your team as well as other internal partners to connect clients with opportunities. Provide guidance for your clients by leveraging documentation of cash management solutions that meets their needs. Work with the Commercial Banking Relationship Managers and other internal partners to maximize sales opportunities.
Deliver solutions - Proactively assess your clients’ treasury and cash management needs and propose solutions to deliver to meet those needs. Provide continued partnership and support to your clients through understanding their goals and objectives. Communicate with your clients in order to find the right solutions.
Required Qualifications
A BS/BA degree or higher
5+ years of experience in calling role for business development for Treasury Management
Strong knowledge and understanding of treasury management product and services
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Other Desired Qualifications
Strong understanding of accounting and technology as it relates to a company's financial operations
Effectively organizes, assembles and arranges resources to meet sales goals
Excellent communicator
Develops and delivers viable business process solutions requiring extensive profiling, prospecting, discovery, and pipeline management
Ability to thrive in a team-selling partnership with relationship managers
CTP certification or desire to obtain
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $105,000- $125,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
