Jamaica Hospital Medical Center located in Queens, New York is currently seeking experienced
Physician Assistants with prior Family Medicine experience for immediate full-time 3/12.5- day shifts. Every other weekend required.
DUTIES:
As a Physician Assistant in our Internal Medicine Department, you will have the opportunity to manage all aspects of care, and discharge responsibilities. Performs a variety of patient care functions and technical procedures necessary for patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation.
Additional responsibilities will include:
Taking initial patient histories and performing physical examinations.Evaluating, diagnosing, developing, and managing treatment plans.Ordering and interpreting lab testsCounseling patientsPerforming various medical procedures and assisting in surgical operations.Conferring with attending physicians, residents, and other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.Requirements
REQUIREMENT
Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs (ARC-PA) program, required.Licensed Physician Assistant by the New York State Department of Education is required.Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), is required.Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.Minimum of 1-year inpatient hospital experience in internal medicine strongly desired.Epic Software experience preferred.
