Durham Academy is accepting applications for qualified substitutes for the Preschool/Lower School infirmary and the Middle School nurse's office on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities include:

Care for minor injuries and illnesses of students and faculty.Administer over-the-counter medications to students as needed based on their physical assessment.Administer prescription medications to students as scheduled and per policy.Respond to emergency medical situations such as anaphylaxis, seizures, hypo/hyperglycemia, asthma attacks, or cardiac events.Be familiar with expectations about student behavior and discipline and follow school procedures and guidelines.Qualifications

Candidates should have a B.S. Degree in Nursing and be licensed to practice in North Carolina (prior experience in pediatrics is preferred but not required).Must be dependable and willing to report on short notice.Should be willing and able to use electronic health records.
