About Us: Established in 1987, and integrated into Heartland Alliance International in 2012, the Marjorie Kovler Center (Kovler Center) is a national leader in the provision of mental health and psychosocial support services. The Kovler Center Healing Journeys Program is a Category III Center with the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN). Healing Journeys provides direct clinical and case management services to immigrant and refugee youth and families aged 0-21 years old from diverse backgrounds. These services are evidence-based and culturally adapted to the population served. Services are provided via telehealth or in-person, either in the community, schools, or at the Kovler Center, depending on the needs of the youth and family. This center is focused on providing high quality, culturally and linguistically responsive, trauma-informed clinical services and interventions to best meet the needs of families from over 25 countries who have been impacted by war, forced migration, resettlement, family separation, and/or torture.
Summary: The Manager of Clinical Training and Supervision at the Kovler Center will oversee the clinical student training program and ensure that the clinical supervision needs of students, staff, and volunteers are met. This role will support the onboarding and training of clinical staff and the development of clinical protocol and clinical framework across the Kovler Center's programs. The role will provide individual and/or group therapy to a small number of participants.
Individual accountabilities and work volume will be established through the development of annual Success Objectives within the framework outlined below. This position will be 60% FTE.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In collaboration with Kovler Center Program Managers, coordinate the clinical student training program, including:
Interview/place graduate students in clinical training programEnsure that all graduate students have appropriate clinical supervision, including providing clinical supervision as neededAddress concerns/remediation needs of clinical studentsCoordinate initial training/onboarding and ongoing seminarsLead group supervision for studentsIn coordination with other student clinical supervisors, be available for crisis consultation.
In collaboration with Kovler Center Program Managers and Director, oversee the clinical supervision and training needs of staff and volunteer clinicians, including the following:
Ensure that staff and volunteer clinicians have regular and appropriate supervisory support, including providing clinical supervision to staff as neededIn coordination with program managers, be available for crisis consultation, including serving in rotation as the Kovler Center Manager-On-Site.Research and identify relevant training opportunities and resources to support the clinical development of staff.
Develop clinical onboarding protocol across MKC; support onboarding of new employees.Collaboratively develop Kovler's clinical protocol and framework as well as the clinical protocol and framework of each programProvide high quality, culturally and linguistically responsive, trauma-informed clinical services and interventions to best meet the needs of immigrant and refugee youth and families. This includes conducting screening, assessment, trauma-informed individual therapy, and group therapies. Clinical services will take place virtually, at the Kovler Center, in the community, and/or home settings.Participate in local and national immigrant and refugee serving coalitions and workgroups.May present and train on immigrant and refugee trauma and child trauma across multi-disciplinary settings and with community partners.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Master's degree in social work (MSW), MA in Clinical or Counseling fields PsyD in Clinical Psychology, and above.Minimum four (4) years of clinical and supervisory experience.
