With general direction provided by the Senior Management Auditor and indirect oversight from the Chief of MARS, the Associate Management Auditor (AMA) will perform at the first full journey person of the series in leading and completing complex and difficult assurance and consulting services in an independent and proficient manner in accordance with professional auditing standards. The AMA will function with a high level of initiative, demonstrating good judgement and effective communication. The AMA also may be assigned to other projects within MARS that require a first full journey-level auditor skill set.

Duties and Responsibilities:(Candidates must perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodations.)

Lead and complete complex and difficult internal audit assurance and consulting services (including department-wide risk assessments) independently and in an efficient and effective manner, and in accordance with professional auditing standards; and internal manuals, protocols, procedures,and guidelines. Develop and complete the audit plan to contribute to audit effectiveness and efficiency. Develop and complete internal control surveys. Perform risk assessment to determine and help identify audit focus.Provide sufficient evidence that all results, conclusions, and recommendations are supported and meet audit objectives. Fully develops audit findings with all of the required elements. Document audit results in a clear and concise manner that supports work performed and related findings. Exercises flexibility in responding to changing workloads and establish and maintain cooperative relations with those contacted during an audit. Provide quality service and work products to individual divisions, offices, projects, executive office, and internally within MARS.Complete continuing professional education requirements as required by Institute of Internal Auditors. Complete departmental required training.Assist on special assignments and duties assigned by the Senior Management Auditor, attend meetings, and complete administrative tasks.
