$17.80 per hour as Bus Driver

This position is eligible for CATEGORY 5 benefits.
Type of Work:
Operates bus as fill in for absent driver. If no drivers are absent, will ride other routes to familiarize self for the future. Once all routes become routine, the driver will remain co-driver at reduced rate of pay. Assist in supervision and maintain order on the bus. Other duties as described in the Transportation Handbook and/or as assigned by the Director of Transportation and/or Superintendent of Schools.
Time Required: (Working Hours)
Minimum 20 hours per week
As Driver:
Per Route Filling Between 5:40 to 8:30 AM (Includes 15-minute pre-trip) Between 2:20 to 5:15 PM (Includes 20-minute clean-up)
As Co-Driver:
Per Route Co-Driving Between 5:55 to 8:30 AM (No pre-trip) Between 2:20 to 4:55 PM (No clean-up)NOTE: Time and schedule as assigned by the Director of Transportation and/or Superintendent of Schools.
Qualifications:
Willing to train
Holds a CDL's license, S endorsement.Pass required physical exam.Must have a high school diploma and a minimum 10th grade reading level.Available for special training as required.Must relate well with students and adults.Able to demonstrate reasonable skill in operation of a school bus and pass all state requirements.Must have no record of child abuse or neglect and have never been convicted of any offense other than a minor traffic violation.Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
