Position Overview
The Field Access Manager (FAM) will play a critical role in the success of Medexus’s rare disease hematology oncology product. Responsibilities will include educating hospital Pharmacy Directors, BMT Pharmacists and other key pharmacy stakeholders on treosulfan’s HEOR/value proposition. They will be responsible for securing access for treosulfan on targeted hospital and IDN formularies and EMRs, and managing all aspects related to hospital pharmacy ordering and stocking. This position is pivotal in driving access initiatives, addressing reimbursement challenges, and ensuring that patients have timely access to our innovative therapies. The FAM will also serve as a key liaison between the commercial team and the broader healthcare ecosystem, delivering on our mission to improve the lives of patients with rare hematologic and oncologic conditions.
Position ResponsibilitiesMarket Access Facilitation:Educate hospital Pharmacy Directors, BMT Pharmacists and other key pharmacy and financial stakeholders on treosulfan HEOR/value propositionSecure access for treosulfan on hospital and IDN formularies and EMRsManage all aspects related to pharmacy ordering and stockingEstablish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Pharmacy and Finance departments in oncology hospitals, transplant centers, and Integrated delivery systemsEstablish and maintain knowledge of the specialty distribution landscape for Treosulfan and help to resolve any issues that hospitals and transplant centers are having with ordering and receiving Treosulfan.Strategic Planning and Execution:
Develop and execute comprehensive target account plans to maximize the uptake and access of treosulfan.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Market Access, to align field activities with broader company objectives.Monitor market trends, payer landscapes, and regulatory changes to anticipate challenges and adapt strategies accordingly.Establish and maintain knowledge of the local and national payer landscape for Treosulfan including medical policies and utilization management criteria.Operational Excellence:
Effectively deploy resources within targeted accounts including Budget Impact Model, HEOR financial value story, formulary kit, and AMCP Dossier.Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress against access goals, making data-driven adjustments as needed.Execute all activities within defined regulatory and compliance standards.Ensure all activities are compliant with industry regulations and company policies, and provide regular reporting on access challenges, payer landscape changes, and market dynamics.
Education, Experience & Skill Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MPH, PharmD) are preferred.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a field-based role within the biopharmaceutical industry, specifically in market access, reimbursement, or payer relations.Proven experience in rare disease, hematology, or oncology is strongly preferred.In-depth knowledge of payer landscape, reimbursement processes, and specialty pharmacy distribution models.Must have experience working with a pharmaceutical product that is used inpatient and reimbursed under a DRG or Case Rate.Must have experience working with a pharmaceutical product that is used outpatient and reimbursed as a medical benefit.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence diverse stakeholders.Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex reimbursement scenarios and identify solutions.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate strong organizational skills.Proficiency in CRM systems and other tools used to track and manage field activities.Willingness to travel extensively as needed to support field activities.Additional Information
Must be willing to travel up to 70%Salary Range:
$175,000 - $195,000 annuallyMust live near a major airport hub. Preferred major metro areas:
