Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.HDR is looking for an experienced Project Manager - Facilities Design to join the Building Engineering Services Business Group in Charlotte, NC. This individual must have at least 10 years of progressive experience leading design teams focused on facility projects through the planning, design, permitting and construction phases. They will perform client development and management activities to support our design center in Charlotte, NC. They will need to be skilled in communicating with clients, leading multi-discipline design teams through large projects, coordinating with sub-consultants, delivering projects on time and within budget. On a day-to-day basis, they will be expected to:Function as Project Manager, and take responsibility for executing projects and managing and developing multidiscipline teams, utilizing HDR’s business systems and project management tools.Build team technical expertise and design production capacity through recruitment, staff development and training.Have the opportunity to lead and mentor other staff.Participate in leadership for external marketing and planning.Travel regionally/nationally as needed.Perform contract preparation and negotiation, scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, and project quality control.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline required.Minimum of 10 years of related engineering experience, 5 of which must be in project management.Microsoft Office Suite experience is required.Excellent communication, leadership and planning skills, and the ability to thrive in a team environment.Strong skills in preparing client presentations, project memoranda and reports.Attitude and commitment to being an active participant of an employee-owned culture.Preferred QualificationsLocal candidates (Charlotte in particular) are preferred.Why HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for; it's also about what you do and how you do it.
