As a Manager Quality, your goal is to provide leadership as well as the tools to continuously improve quality within the commercial service business. You’ll function as a change agent in moving quality processes & initiatives forward. You’ll also establish, manage and implement quality initiatives, systems & measures by driving the continued development of a quality culture.You will do this by:Developing effective quality measurements and reporting results to the leadership team and others across the division at multiple locations both domestic and/or international.Setting direction and measuring the effectiveness of implemented systems.Coordinating and executing quality duties across the location: quality improvements; leading warranty reduction project teams; system improvements; best practices quality initiatives; and training.Managing quality system policies and procedures by administering and coordinating quality policies and practices designed to improve quality & reduce costs.Coordinating the quality management system certification process.Representing Briggs & Stratton’s quality interests for the location with suppliers and customers; participating in customer feedback gathering and focusing on improving customer satisfaction.Performing a full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but are not limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget.The above statements are intended only to describe the general nature of the job and should not be construed as an all-inclusive list of position responsibilities.You are the kind of person who is/has:Process improvement oriented.Self-motivated and ambitious.Able to handle competing priorities.-
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field OR equivalent education and experience.At least seven years of quality, or related, professional experience.Prior leadership and management experience.Fluent in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility and/or location.Preferred Qualifications:ASQ Quality Engineer, ASQ Quality Auditor, or Six Sigma Black Belt.Experience with enterprise-wide reporting systems, such as SAP and/or Teamcenter.Additional Knowledge & Skills:Thorough knowledge of quality practices and procedures including Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO requirements.Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and team-oriented communication skills to effectively work with diverse groups of people.Demonstrated success implementing large-scale improvements in complex and diverse environments both domestic and/or international.Demonstrated project management and effective facilitation skills.Comprehensive technical knowledge and background of quality and manufacturing processes.Ability to exercise considerable judgment in guiding the quality team in solving practical problems with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there may/may not be standardization.Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.Travel Required:% of Travel: up to 10%.How often: as needed.Where: domestic.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Work Location:Menomonee Falls, WI (hybrid eligible).
