We are responsible for creating innovative technology solutions for the Private Banking Group (PBG), one of the strategic growth areas of the Firm, providing cash management and lending products and services to our WM clients. This includes state-of-the-art technology for a nationwide network of Private Bankers and product specialists who work with Financial Advisors to provide access to products and services such as online banking, cards, deposit products, residential mortgages, securities-based loans, and tailored lending. If you are an exceptional individual who is interested in solving complex problems and building sophisticated solutions in a dynamic team environment, WMPT is the place for you.Position Description:We are looking for an experienced hands-on Java Developer who will work on the technical aspects of designing, implementing, testing of various initiatives in Core Banking Group. The role expects significant engineering knowledge in complex server-side applications and cloud migration - including new feature work, improvements on existing code, and active participation in designing, developing and shipping the product.Job Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:Work with a technical team to design and implement reliable, scalable, extensible, maintainable, global, and operable products and platforms.Build systems that balance resources, constraints, requirements, and complexity.Develop department-wide technical perspectives, standards, solutions, and strategies that resolve significant product or organizational pain-points.Work closely with product management and development teams.You must enjoy challenging engineering problems. We are looking for someone who can solve complex issues.We value principal engineers who do enough hands-on implementation work to keep current with technology trends inside and outside the company.Skills Required:4+ years of hands-on Java (v1.8 or higher) development experience.4+ years of experience in building software stacks on top of Linux.Strong command of server-side technologies including Spring, Hibernate and webservices.Hands-on experience with DML and relational databases including SQL server.Hands-on experience in Web Technologies (Apache, HTTP, SOAP, JSON, XML, RESTful APIs).Hands-on development experience within Agile framework and Agile SDLC.3+ years of experience with Agile Software/tools (e.g. JIRA etc.).Strong command in unit and integration testing of web applications.Knowledge of advanced JavaScript and browser optimizations.Working knowledge of software development domain and principles, including design patterns, code structure, programming languages, continuous integration, and deployment architecture.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Experience of working with open-source technologies and engaging with the community.Skills Desired:Prior experience working in the Financial Services Industry.Education:Minimum BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
