Purpose of this Position:
The
Microsoft Azure Cloud Administrator
will work closely with the Manager and other McLeod Software Corporate IT Cloud team administrators to design and implement Azure hybrid cloud and cloud-native solutions.At McLeod Software, the Microsoft Azure Cloud Administrator will contribute to advancing the cloud strategy. This role's primary focus includes consulting, designing, and maintaining the Azure public cloud infrastructure. The candidate will also be responsible for implementing and managing all relevant Azure public cloud technology stacks and adhering to industry best practices for security.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Create and maintain security strategies, policies, procedures, and documentation in a cloud-focused environmentDesign, implement, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure services and solutions for hosting McLeod Software productsDesign, implement, configure, and maintain Azure networking technologiesMigrate on-premises and private cloud workloads to Azure using best practicesAutomate processes with Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Azure AutomationTrain other team members on relevant systems and servicesResearch and resolve complex issues as they are escalatedConsult with 3rd party vendors to install, configure, and deploy advanced systems and services when appropriateWork with management and development teams to design and deploy complex solutionsWork with vendors and service providers to research, evaluate, budget, and procure new systems and servicesIdentify and plan for capacity increaseInstall, configure, deploy, and update applicationsEstablish and maintain the desired state for systemsMaintain system life cyclesDrive Identity and access management using Azure Active DirectoryUpdate Knowledge base and Standard Operating ProceduresEstablish and implement monitoring and management infrastructure for availability, performance management, and cost controlWork closely with DevOps to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure environments for McLeod SoftwareQualifications:10+ years of experience as a full-time IT professional3+ years of experience designing and supporting Azure environmentsMicrosoft Azure Certifications are a plusHands-on experience using the Azure administration portalDemonstrable experience deploying enterprise workloads to AzureExperience designing and supporting enterprise core services as well as cloud deployments of these servicesExtensive knowledge of Microsoft Enterprise software products and servicesEducation/Experience:High School Diploma or GED requiredA bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is strongly preferred, but consideration may be given to an exceptional candidate with 10 years of relevant experience.At least three years of relevant work experience designing, implementing, administrating, or managing Microsoft Azure at an enterprise scaleLanguage Ability:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret trade publications, technical documentation, reports, and other documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, peers, or business community members. Ability to write communications and documentation grammatically correct for routine business correspondence.Reasoning Ability:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
