Network Engineer V

In this role, you will collaborate closely with team members, vendors, and administrative and end-user teams to ensure connectivity of primary and backup networks. Complete Description

Maintain the operations of multi-user computer systems, virtual computer systems, and COTS software products.

Perform network administration and system administration tasks within the scope of the contract.

Monitor and correct system performance issues, apply network configurations, and lead network design efforts.

Collaborate with the Sys Admin and DevSecOps software team to maintain and update database systems.

Provide on-the-job training on system configuration to team members.

Assist in deploying software/hardware deliveries and support special projects.

Assist operational crews and contractor teams in resolving system and network issues.

Minimum Requirements

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the full software development cycle.

Knowledge of Cisco Nexus, ASA, FMC technologies for Software-Defined Networking and other networking products used in a virtualized networking infrastructure.

Understanding of advanced networking concepts and networking design best practices in a software development environment.

Experience operating within Red Hat-based environments.

Strong troubleshooting skills.

Foundational understanding of routing and switching protocols, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and firewall policies.

Experience with shell scripting languages, Perl, Python, PostgreSQL, and Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI).

Preferred Requirements

Ability to utilize network maintenance and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, Splunk, Infoblox NetMRI.

Experience with Cisco Firewalls and complex system design and integration.

Security certifications (Security+, CISSP, etc.) or equivalent.

Network certifications (Network+, CCNA, CCNP, JNCP, etc.) or equivalent.

SAFe Certification on Scaled Agile.

Familiarity with UNIX, Linux, and Windows server administration.

Experience with CHEF and building/configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.

Knowledge of Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (NIDS/NIPS) such as Snort and Bro.
