WHAT WE'RE DOING

Advancing the Integrated Discrimination and Electronic Protection capabilities of the Missile Defense System (MDS)

Leading systems engineering trades, analysis, and studies related to requirements generation

Developing and delivering MDS capabilities and engineering artifacts into the Technical Baseline (TBL)

Supporting MDA’s Discrimination Directorate’s efforts to define and coordinate new capabilities

THE WORK

Develop modeling and simulation (M&S) for radar tracking algorithms to support the Missile Defense Agency.

Conduct performance analyses and trade studies on tracking functions.

Create and execute medium-to-high fidelity, object-oriented MATLAB M&S incorporating:

Sensing phenomenology

Signal processing

Detection, tracking, and discrimination functionalities

Provide expertise in radar tracking and sensor fusion.

Coordinate analysis activities and products with functional group leads, senior management, and government personnel.

Prepare detailed reports and briefings to document analysis results.

Present findings to the Missile Defense National Team (MDNT) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

Basic Qualifications:

Individual must have a strong technical background in radar tracking system methodologies including but not limited to state estimation (e.g., Extended Kalman Filter (EKF), Interacting Multiple Model (IMM)), detection-to-track association (e.g., Global Nearest Neighbor (GNN), Multiple Hypothesis Tracking (MHT)), and general track management.

Individual must have the ability to model aspects of tracking systems within a MATLAB simulation environment and support tracking-related analyses.

Individual must have the ability and willingness to learn new physical and mathematical concepts.

Desired Skills:

Experience with tracking systems within elements of the Missile Defense System, including sensor fusion techniques; tracking algorithms for both radar and electro-optical sensors; electromagnetic attack; creation of novel tracking system algorithms, and/or algorithm optimizations; configuration management tools; working in a team environment; object-oriented programming; conducting system of systems analysis and trade studies.

Knowledge of one or more of the following specific elements of the Missile Defense System: AN/SPY radars, AN/TPY radars, Early Warning Radars, Sea Based X-band radar, Long-Range Discriminating radar.

Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a group setting.

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely:

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
