LIS Systems Analyst II (Hybrid)

This position provides intermediate analysis and documentation of existing hospital and administrative procedures and recommends alternative procedures for improvement of workflow, either manual or automated, maximizing productivity and controlling costs.This position supports Clinical Laboratory Services.Job DutiesLaboratory Information Systems Analyst will have sufficient knowledge of existing computer systems to effectively troubleshoot system problems and/or develop high-level LIS computer systems.The job requires significant self-motivation, strong work ethic, and the ability to effectively work as part of a highly functioning team. The LIS Systems Analyst will report directly to the LIS Manager.Plans the study of current departmental systems.Gathers and organizes information on systems including present operating procedures.Analyzes data and considers all available solutions, either manual or automated.Work with Big Data Analytics.Experience updating and maintaining websites.Adheres to internal controls established for the department.Performs related duties as required.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field and 3 years of related experience.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in a Microbiology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, or Hematology lab section.Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Experience updating and maintaining websites.Experience running reports.WORK SCHEDULE:Hybrid, onsite as needed. This position supports the UTRGV project; occasional travel may be required.
