Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Engineer II to design and develop internet-based software systems. This role involves applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to create robust and scalable web applications. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of web application integration points, interdependencies, and standard data exchange and control protocols.Key Responsibilities:Technical Leadership:
Provide technical leadership to the Web Software Engineering and Web Development Administration teams. Recommend and implement web policies, manage projects, and develop operational procedures for specific web-based projects.Project Management:
Lead project design and development to ensure alignment with overall internet development strategies. Utilize a personal computer for various tasks.Application Development:
Support the development of applications, working effectively with business teams throughout coding, unit testing, integration testing, and load testing phases.Planning and Scheduling:
Plan and schedule all phases of internet application development. Create proposals, including methodology and time requirements for assignment completion.Maintenance and Improvement:
Provide support for the maintenance and continuous improvement of existing applications.Design Implementation:
Incorporate and implement design “look and feel” and content from sales, marketing, or outside design consultants for the website.Adaptability:
Thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with frequent priority shifts.Qualifications:Technical Expertise:
Proficiency with web servers, HTML authoring, web infrastructure, and knowledge of Linux, Windows, Java, JDBC, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, JSP, PL/SQL, XML, UNIX-Shell Scripting, Apache, Oracle, and Weblogic.Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Knowledge of internet hardware, software, and firewall setup.Communication Skills:
Ability to articulate both marketing and IT needs/issues to all groups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Web Technology Knowledge:
Strong understanding of web technology skills, eBusiness, eCommerce, and eMarketing techniques.Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to interact well with team members and business users. Excellent project management skills.Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Six years of information technology experience, including work with web-based applications. A master’s degree and one year of supervisory experience are preferred.This position is based at our National Executive Office in Memphis, TN, and will have a hybrid work schedule.Benefits & Perks
