Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Accelerating Drug Discovery with AI
Deep Genomics, Cambridge, Massachusetts, us, 02140
Transform the Future of Medicine with Deep GenomicsAre you passionate about leveraging AI to revolutionize drug discovery? Join Deep Genomics as we decode RNA biology to uncover breakthrough therapies!About UsDeep Genomics is at the forefront of using artificial intelligence to transform drug discovery. Our cutting-edge AI platform decodes the complexity of RNA biology to identify novel drug targets, mechanisms, and therapeutics inaccessible through traditional methods. With expertise spanning machine learning, bioinformatics, data science, engineering, and drug development, our multidisciplinary team in Toronto and Cambridge, MA is revolutionizing how new medicines are created.About the RoleAs a Senior ML Engineer, you'll architect scalable systems that accelerate our ability to translate AI insights into life-changing therapies. You'll work at the intersection of machine learning and biology, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in drug discovery.Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and improve data ingestion and processing pipelines for scalability, reproducibility, reliability, and speedImprove the training and inference speeds of a large class of ML models including transformer-based architectures, structured state-space models, graph neural networks, and many othersDesign, implement, and deploy ways to make complex deep learning models usable by biologists and other domain specialistsManage ML infrastructure, both on premises and in the cloudRapidly prototype POCs in partnership with ML scientists and other stakeholdersTest models at scale and ensure CI/CD best practices are followed by the whole teamBasic Qualifications:
3+ years of experienceExpertise in ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)Strong background in distributed systems and containerizationSelf-motivated problem-solver with excellent communication skillsAdaptability to evolving requirements in a fast-paced fieldAbility to mentor and elevate team members' skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Previous startup experience bringing ML prototypes to productionFamiliarity with bioinformatics data/pipelinesKnowledge of MLFlow, Kubeflow, Ray, Dask, Fluidstack, or similar toolsWhat we offer:
A highly competitive salary, a meaningful equity ownership stake in Deep Genomics, and exceptional opportunities for learning and growthCompany paid benefitsExceptional opportunities for learning and growth in a world-class team of researchers and software developers, working at the intersection of the most exciting areas of science and technologyDeep Genomics welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.Deep Genomics thanks all applicants, however only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
