Software Engineer II

Assured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for a Software Engineer II to join our Trusted Systems team. In this role, you’ll contribute to the research, engineering design and development of software in areas such as secure workstations, virtualization, cross domain solutions, and hypervisors. You’ll maintain and create new automated tests for software systems.
This is a hybrid position and would require the ability to work onsite at headquarters in Rome, NY as needed.How You’ll SucceedYou’ll succeed by developing, debugging and testing different software solutions with limited oversight from senior technical staff. In addition, you’ll:Develop software for both Linux and Windows environmentsAssist in the development of user manuals and training materials.Contribute technical content to bids; work to secure follow-on efforts for current taskingExercise creative solutions to advance software performance from design and development of novel capabilitiesInvestigate and solve problems to technical issues, both individually and as a contributing team memberContribute to an agile environment with an integrated team of developers, testers and investigatorsAccurately estimate the duration and effort required for short taskingsContribute to status reports, able to accurately communicate status to leadYour ExpertiseYou have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field of study, OR equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, you have:2 years’ experience:
Developing in PythonDeveloping in an Object-Oriented EnvironmentWorking in a Linux environment
Knowledge of:
C++, Bash or other scripting languagesTest frameworks such as Selenium
