Provide technical and engineering work for R&D department as directed by the Sr. Manager, Software Engineering. This position will be responsible for Configuration management and integration of software toward defined Block Release objectives. Provide Block Releases and interim builds of software configurations according to the integrated master schedule and project schedules. Manage software repositories, build procedures, document work instructions such that production does not cease in case of absence, and deliver appropriate software configurations to appropriate clients based on their specific equipment and expressed needs. Provide architecture solution, configuration, and software implementation for expanding and maintaining the existing DevOps infrastructure used by R&D.Responsibilities:

Responsible for configuration of software for medical device host application as well as engineering tools, per SOPs. Prepare configuration management documentation.Responsible for storage and retrieval of off the shelf and SOUP software such that systems are reproducible in the future.Responsible for the build process of complex C/C++, C# with installation, various platforms of off the shelf software including general principles of operating software, ability to learn about target systems.Perform configuration management in compliance with SOPs.Build and control release of software to the field in accordance with department standards.Manage accounts access necessary for software development for engineers, contractors, and vendor partners (Jira, Bitbucket).Maintain and practice Agile with sprints within Jira.Participate in design and development of embedded software and supporting production tools for the legacy and new generation of the medical device (C/C++ and C#).Responsible for software build automation using JENKINS or equivalent tools.Responsible for testing and system software debugging and troubleshooting (Visual Studio).Responsible for architecture, configuration, and software implementation of the DevOps server.Manage active directory accounts and groups as they apply to the DevOps security and operation needs.Experience directing efforts of IT consultants to meet advanced objectives.Experience directing efforts of Merz IT management to meet advanced objectives, including maintaining a secure DevOps environment.Coordinate with Merz Service & Repair to establish a client distribution portal via the DevOps server for distributing software upgrades and collecting log files from specific, fielded consoles.Track and maintain the software team assets.Responsible for provisioning key access for the medical device using the existing tools.Design reviews, forms processing for software releases, documentation, and other duties as assigned.Education:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent required.Master’s degree in related technical field preferred.Professional experience:

7+ years in DevOps and software development.DevOps and software configuration for medical devices.Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Experience managing source repositories.Experience with user support of toolsets (e.g., Atlassian) for Issue Tracking (e.g., Jira) and management of desktop repository (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket) tools to integrate operational solutions from multiple contributors.Advanced knowledge of Linux (Red Hat), Windows 10 Operating System and BIOS configuration – Previous work experiences in this domain is required.Advanced knowledge of network topologies, server configurations, Amazon AWS, tools for data backup & web servers, databases in a DevOps environment. Previous work experiences in this domain is required.Advanced knowledge of C/C++, C# and scripting using PowerShell and Batch file, SQL Database.Agile Software Development Methodology, Configuration Management Tools, and Processes.Proficient with JENKINS.Manage build and release.Comply with company SOPs.Knowledge on B-Mode Ultrasound is a plus.Software test and release strategies and execution of delivery of controlled software.Previous experience with documenting artifacts and methods per Standard Operating Procedures. Desire to participate in these activities with knowledge of the value of these artifacts to clinical operation, regulatory guidance, and brand quality. Desire to coordinate others in these activities.Experience with medical devices and medical device standards like IEC62304, IEC60601.Experience integrating real-time systems and a Windows Host application.Software may include in-house software solutions, in collaboration with international partners, Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software that contributes to a known, repeatable process which produces an integrated set of software components, objects and executables linked to produce an intended function on specifically conformed electronic hardware system configurations used for the research, development, qualification, production, service, and repair of medical devices.
