Job Overview:
As a Systems / Solution Architect Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, integrating, and testing cutting-edge threat detection and evasion technologies for military aviation platforms. This high-visibility position involves the architectural oversight of Aircraft Survivability solutions, ensuring they meet both current and future military needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform independent, high-level design of Aircraft Survivability solutions, focusing on how these systems interface with aviation platforms.
Provide architectural oversight for the development of new or enhanced products, including articulating the vision, exploring alternative architectural approaches, creating models, and validating the architecture against established requirements.
Collaborate with product developers, product managers, and customer experts to create software solutions that meet the required features and modifications.
Offer technical guidance to various departments and may be responsible for integrating components built by different development teams.
Define and establish the core design features and elements that form the framework of the system architecture.
Work closely with system users to identify and resolve complex user problems and concerns.
Conduct cost-benefit analyses to determine the best solutions, considering manual, software, or hardware functions, with an emphasis on leveraging commercial off-the-shelf components.
Develop acceptance test requirements in collaboration with designers, test engineers, and users to ensure all high-level requirements, particularly related to the human-computer interface, are met.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 16+ years of experience
Master’s degree with 14+ years of experience
Ph.D. with 10+ years of experience
Active Top-Secret Clearance.
Expertise in developing Aircraft Survivability architecture concepts and designs using the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) for enduring and Future Vertical Lift (FVL) platforms.
Experience in developing and presenting briefing materials, technical reports, white papers, and Courses of Action (COAs), including assessing risks and providing recommendations.
Research and experience in modern network/communication approaches such as high-speed Ethernet, publish/subscribe systems, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), and off-boarding opportunities.
Experience overseeing the requirements, design, development, and testing of Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) software modules for ASE Modernization.
