OverviewSpirit AeroSystems designs and builds aerostructures for both commercial and defense customers. Spirit AeroSystems focuses on affordable, innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions to support customers around the globe.ResponsibilitiesLocation: Wichita, KSProvides numerical control, machining, and programming technical support.Analyze blueprints, engineering models, and electronic controls to support NC programming.Work with CNC machine operators to optimize or modify programs as required.Plans, creates, verifies, and revises machine control data and documentation that directs the operations for numerically controlled machines.Ability to collaborate in a team environment.Implements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams.Knowledge to develop tooling, interchangeability, replacement, and functional test plans.Using the established manufacturing process flow, defines sequences of events, develops text and graphics work instructions, manufacturing datasets, tooling requirements, and manufacturing bills of material.Communicates with engineering teams to influence and clarify design concepts.Coordinates change incorporation, optimizes processes, and addresses producibility issues as well as production & post-production problems.Has the ability to demonstrate configuration control of the hardware, within the manufacturing build plan.QualificationsRequirementsCandidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.Successful candidates must be able to secure Program access approval.Employment start date would be determined based upon program need and obtaining clearance.Ability to apply process knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Composite non-metallic, Electrical/Electronics, Machining, Sheet metal, Systems and Structures.3-5 years of professional experience in numerical control (NC) programming.Preferred QualificationsExperience with multiple material types.Parts Design/Wireframe experience.Experience with frequent interaction with internal personnel in the manufacturing environment and occasionally with inter-organizational personnel and external customers.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models.Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially with Excel.Strong knowledge of SAP.Experience with CATIA / ENOVIA.Knowledge of 3DX.Knowledge of NX.CGTech / Vericut proficient.Understanding of the master scheduling requirements.Ability to take a project from start to finish.Willingness to work cross-functionally.Bachelors of Science in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering or other related course of study a plus but not required.Spirit AeroSystems is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy, age, disability, veteran status or any other protected factor under federal, state or local law.
