Dallas, TX.Continually demonstrate by example a personal commitment to HESS excellence and the company’s ongoing goal of achieving zero-incident performance.Supervise and oversee the Occidental Chemical Basic Chemicals Company (BCC) Technical Service staff. Conduct performance reviews. Prepare salary and promotion recommendations for the Technical Service team. Prepare and manage annual budget for the BCC Technical Service group.Ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the Technical Service Group in their mission to support internal and external customers to achieve regulatory compliance, Responsible Care Compliance, and increase customer satisfaction.Recognize need for and implement Technical Service product bulletins, programs, procedures, and processes to fulfill OxyChem business goals.Provide technical support, information, and training to customers, distributors, Oxy sales staff, OxyChem marketing staff, OxyChem customer service staff, and transportation on safe use, transportation, and disposition of OxyChem products.Evaluate and resolve customer complaints and problems related to delivery, use, and performance of Oxy products, striving to achieve mutually satisfactory resolution for the customer and OxyChem.Develop specific solutions for issues and problems not previously encountered or described in product literature.Maintain the SAP Quality System for BCC products. This includes management of product and customer specifications and certificates of analysis (COA) management.Jointly and cooperatively review, develop, and maintain product data sheets, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), product labels, product literature, and technical bulletins to assure safe handling and use of BCC products.Support BCC field sales by providing Technical Service resources to prospective new customers.Provide safe handling and use seminars. Conduct on-site safety audits and assessments of customer facilities.Provide personnel for ISO audits, Food Safety audits, and HESS-coordinated audits.Responsible for quality of BCC products at storage terminals.Recommend chemical analysis and, when needed, develop laboratory analytical methods as necessary to resolve OxyChem manufacturing and customer issues.Manage OxyChem’s CAR customer issue tracking and resolution system.Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering or a closely related engineering field, with a preferred minimum of 10 years’ experience in a technical position that deals with both internal and external customers.Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to resolve technical problems with dissatisfied customers and work as part of a team.Self-starter with strong leadership, communications, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to read, write, and speak in English.Ability to travel domestically and internationally.Ability to respond to emergencies on weekends, holidays, and evenings.High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and good working knowledge of SAP.Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator.
