Plant Project Engineer
Join an expanding global manufacturing leader in the role of Plant Project Engineer, tasked with driving significant projects from concept to completion, directly contributing to the enhancement of manufacturing capabilities through strategic upgrades and improvements. This role is crucial in upholding and surpassing production efficiencies, regulatory standards, and operational capabilities within the plant environment. Successful candidates will take charge of comprehensive project management activities including analyzing plant needs, devising project proposals, managing budgets, and overseeing the implementation of new equipment and systems. Compensation:
$100,000.00 - $125,000.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess manufacturing capacity and identify the necessity for upgrades in facilities and equipment to meet both regulatory standards and internal process improvement goals.
Develop and improve plant proposals, create cost-effective solutions, and prepare submissions for the implementation of selected improvements.
Prepare and submit requests for both major and minor equipment replacements and additions.
Manage all phases of selected equipment upgrades and new equipment installations, from initial basic engineering to final commissioning.
Manage project budgets and schedules, and coordinate project activities with maintenance turnarounds.
Analyze repetitive manufacturing problems to determine root causes and initiate appropriate equipment or procedural changes to rectify issues.
Prepare, review, and approve production records, maintenance procedures, operating procedures, Job Safety Analyses (JSA’s), and change requests as required.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5+ years of experience as a Capital Project Engineer in manufacturing plants.
Proven capability to manage multi-million dollar projects with sharp attention to detail and budget supervision.
Strong interdisciplinary knowledge, including mechanical, chemical, electrical, and civil engineering principles.
Advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a strong ability to analyze complex technical issues.
Legally authorized to work in the country without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree or certifications relevant to project or engineering management.
Experience in the specific sector of the manufacturing industry relevant to the hiring company.
Demonstrated leadership in previous roles with the ability to guide teams and manage stakeholders effectively.
Prior experience with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
Experience working in global or multi-site manufacturing environments.
Skills:
