Provides leadership to recommend, plan and implement a wide variety of projects which support the company. Assists with the preparation of programs and processes to provide productivity and quality improvements in the plant operations, including optimum use of facilities and equipment layout, operations analysis for continuous improvement, product quality, controlling labor and budgeting.From your EXPERTISE to oursKey responsibilities for this position include:Ensures proper documentation is provided as justification for capital expendituresPlans and manages projects to ensure efficient production methods and flow, optimum utilization of space and equipmentWorks with Plant Director, maintenance, quality assurance, safety, and other departments to ensure projects undertaken are consistent with plant needs and requirementsDisplays a broad knowledge in dairy, equipment, and processes; continually updates knowledge to stay current on developmentsParticipates actively as a member of the plant management team; provides necessary support for other plant functions/activities as determined by managerDemonstrates professionalism in all aspects of plant’s rules and regulations and encourages quality personnel performanceDevelops and maintains positive relationships with purchasing, suppliers, and vendors regarding equipment and suppliesPerforms design work including researching data, feasibility and economic studies, and determining design criteria in accordance with required standards for assigned projectsMaintains accurate and up-to-date project files and drawing, and identifying and correcting safety, ergonomic and operational problems through proper design of equipmentReads, analyzes, and interprets a variety of instructions, manuals, and procedures in written, oral, diagram, and schedule formPerforms administrative duties in an accurate, timely, and professional manner (phone calls, voice mail, paperwork, meetings)Participates in the capital budget, engineering goals, and plant objectives and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectationsEnsures proper documentation is provided as justification for expenditures and compliance to quality programsReviews ongoing project plans to assure compliance with schedule, cost, and quality of projectsProvides Engineering Manager with reports and information as to progress, issues, and opportunities in a proactive mannerEvaluates the effectiveness of current equipment and facilities considering production schedules or anticipated requirementsRequirementsFrom your STORY to oursQualified applicants will contribute the following:EducationBachelor’s degree in Technical/Engineering preferredExperiencePrevious employment in a food/dairy industry setting preferred2+ years experience applying industrial, processing, mechanical, and electrical knowledge to real-world manufacturing applications, experience managing complex projects and manufacturing installationsStable and dependable work history is requiredSpecialized KnowledgeAgri-food industry technology and processes, project engineering in food or dairy processing plant, knowledge of main dairy process equipment (e.g., HTST, separator, membrane systems, electrical and control systems) and FDA/USDA regulations.Must be familiar with AutoCAD, Excel, and Office 365.Skills/AbilitiesIndividual must be capable of working independently in adherence to regulationsMust manage stress and remain calm under pressureIndividual must be able to demonstrate an inquiring mind and well-developed observational skillsMust be able to perform a multitude of tasks, strong communication abilities both written and verbal, and data entry accuracyThe ideal candidate will be proactive and dynamic, flexible and receptive to new ideas, down to earth and pragmatic, analytical and attentive to detail. He or she will also be capable of working independently in adherence to regulations, of managing stress and remaining calm under pressure, and be able to demonstrate an inquiring mind and well-developed observational skills. Will demonstrate a sense of responsibility and high professional standards, honesty and integrity, and objectivity. Personal qualities of tact, dependability and ability to work well with others. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational skills. Ability to work in a team setting. Possess values of ambition and engagement, with simplicity.
