ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Supports personal computers (OS, hardware, software), laptops, network printers, remote VPN users, wireless devices, Microsoft Office products, and desktop clients for internal Client/Server applications.Performs research and formulates recommendations related to feasibility, cost, and product selection under general supervision.Prepares reports and completes special projects.Assists with feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for systems development projects.Analyzes data, work, and information flow to assist in the selection of software and hardware.Assists with management studies to improve program effectiveness and identify the need for implementation of office automation tools.Performs hardware, software, and network support for PCs and PC-based peripherals.Receives and responds to calls from the Service Desk tracking system and provides support to users.Installs, integrates, and configures new computer systems and hardware.Conducts basic technical diagnostics and deductive investigations for PC hardware, software, and peripheral problems.Provides technical assistance and instruction to computer users.Performs related work.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE:Two years of PC hardware configuration, installation, and help desk experience.
EQUIVALENCY:An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Must not have been convicted of a felony. Misdemeanor convictions will be considered on an individual basis.Must provide one's own source of transportation.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work.Lifts and carries items weighing up to 30 pounds.Stoops, bends, and reaches to install computer hardware.EOEU31
