to join our highly competent and motivated Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) team supporting work on-site in St. Inigoes, Maryland.Functional Description:
Demonstrated capability in one or more of the Information Technology core areas; Computer System Engineering; Computer System Services; Data Management Services; Modeling, Analysis and Simulation; Professional Support Services; Test, Analysis and Evaluation; and Systems Integration. Experience in systems development, analysis or design. Requires competence in all phases of system analysis techniques, system design concepts, computer programming languages and the ability to work with end users to develop system designs from end users specifications.JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will serve as the NAWC's on-site liaison supporting ongoing and future IT networking/communications efforts under a fast-moving, highly rewarding program. Primary responsibilities include:Full life cycle support for local and wide area network infrastructure and connected devicesInstallation and configuration of networking equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, in-line encryption, etc.)Troubleshooting/fault isolation of technical issuesImplementation, maintenance, and monitoring of network security measuresOversight and mentorship of subordinate staffMust have an active Department of Defense Security ClearanceQUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED):Education Requirements:
Preferred education includes completion of a Masters Degree and/or Ph.D. with a Bachelors Degree in an Engineering or IT-related field.Experience Requirements:
Minimum experience includes more than 12 years of relevant experience.Experience with designing, analyzing, configuring, and troubleshooting IP networksComprehensive experience configuring Cisco equipmentKnowledge of routing protocols and other networking technologies including OSPF, RIP, VRF, VLAN, MPLS, IP multicast, IP QoS, and IPSecExperience managing network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, cryptographic equipment, etc.)Active DoDD 8140/DoD 8570 certificationExperience with Microsoft Visio
