Data Stewards Analysts

THIS IS A 100% ONSITE ROLE 5 DAYS A WEEK IN THE GREATER BOSTON AREA.The customer is actively seeking Data Governance Analysts who can carry out data usage and security policies as determined through program data governance initiatives, acting as a liaison between the IT department and the business side of an organization. They will be responsible for determining how a company collects and processes existing data. Create processes that allow members of the company to interact with the data. For example, they may help create processes for how to collect data, how to enter it into databases, and how to share it between databases.Responsibilities:

Employ data analysis tools like Microsoft Excel, Tableau, or Power BI to analyze data, create reports, and visualize data quality and governance metrics.Proficiency in using data profiling tools like IBM InfoSphere Information Analyzer, Talend Data Quality, Informatica Data Quality, or open-source tools like Apache Profiler.Defining, implementing, and monitoring data quality rules with data quality management tools such as Informatica Data Quality, Talend Data Quality, or Trillium Software.Create and maintain data classifications and taxonomies utilizing tools like Collibra Data Governance, Alation Data Catalog, or IBM InfoSphere Governance Catalog.Capturing and managing metadata information by leveraging metadata management solutions like Collibra Data Governance, Informatica Axon, or IBM InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog.Managing data assets, policies, and stewardship activities by using data governance platforms like Collibra, Alation, or Informatica Axon.Using data masking and anonymization tools like Delphix, Informatica Persistent Data Masking, or Redgate Data Masker to protect sensitive data.Documenting and enforcing data governance policies using platforms like Collibra Data Governance or Informatica Axon, which include policy management and enforcement features.Implementing data integration concepts with tools like Apache NiFi, Talend, or Informatica PowerCenter for ETL processes, data movement, and integration.Desired Skills:

Proficiency in using data management tools and platforms, such as data cataloging software (e.g., Collibra, Alation), data quality tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend), and data governance platforms (e.g., IBM Data Governance, SAP Data Intelligence).Understanding of database systems, both relational (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra), including data modeling, schema design, and querying.Knowledge of data profiling techniques and tools to assess the quality, consistency, and completeness of data.Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and data security practices, including encryption, access controls, and data masking.Experience with managing metadata, including metadata tagging, classification, and ensuring metadata accuracy and consistency.Mastery of SQL with tools such as SQL Server Management Studio, Oracle SQL Developer, or open-source tools like DBeaver for data querying and manipulation.Competence in data analysis and visualization tools like Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or open-source tools like R and Python for data analysis and reporting.Define and implement data quality rules and standards to ensure that data is accurate, consistent, and reliable.Categorize data based on sensitivity, business importance, and relevance, often creating and managing data taxonomies to help in better data organization and management.Capture and maintain metadata information, including data definitions, data lineage, and business glossaries to help users understand the context and usage of data.Enforce data governance policies and procedures, ensuring that data follows organizational standards and compliance requirements. This may include managing data access controls and permissions.Use data profiling tools to assess the quality of data, identify anomalies, and validate data against established standards to help in identifying data issues early on.Knowledge of integration techniques, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data connectors to integrate the data governance system with various data sources and other IT systems.Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate routine tasks, such as data imports, system monitoring, and reporting.Using version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage configuration changes, code customizations, and configurations for data governance software.Understanding of cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and the ability to deploy and manage data governance systems in cloud environments.Should be able to construct and control databases for analytics and use the understanding to navigate through the data and find errors in it.Understand how the database works and fix it if corrupted or compromised.Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong technical documentation skills.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.Proven track record in demanding, customer service-oriented environment.Ability to communicate clearly with all levels within an organization.Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Engineering, or other technical discipline required, OR a minimum of 8 years equivalent work experience.8+ years of experience of relevant experience conducting data stewardship at federal organizations.Relevant certifications, such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), are a plus.About TEKsystems:
