Senior Machine Learning Engineer
(Stoneridge, Inc., Novi, MI): On behalf of an automotive electronic product design and production company and reporting to the VP Fleet Products & Services, will work primarily within the Electronics division and will be responsible for collecting, processing, and developing predictive models in the logistics and transportation vertical. Will build models with video data collected from Stoneridge’s cutting edge MirrorEye product and other new sensor portfolios. The position’s primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, performing statistical analysis, and building predictive models, and, to do so, the incumbent will be required to work with a vast video data archive generated from millions of miles from fleet trials.
Specific Responsibilities Include:Create actionable insights and predictions from video and related sensor data.Develop and deploy systems for data collection, data ingestion, data storage and access, and data annotation methodologies and techniques.Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of MirrorEye video data used for analysis.Work cross-functionally in a team environment with other machine learning and data engineers to provide a deeper understanding of their data.Present effective model outputs and data visualizations in a clear and concise manner.Provide recommendations and strategies for progressively improving predictive machine learning model effectiveness.Work location: May work from home office in states where Stoneridge, Inc. has operations within the U.S. This includes Michigan, Ohio, and Texas.
Minimum Requirements:Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related analytical field of study and 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist or AI Engineer working in the industrial automation or automotive industry.
Alternate Requirements:Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related analytical field of study and 1 year of experience as a Data Scientist or AI Engineer working in the industrial automation or automotive industry.
Must also have:Solid background in:Machine learning algorithms and applied statistics including k-NN, Naïve Bayes, SVM, Decision Trees, ensemble models, linear and logistic regressions, and distributions;Neural networks and implementation;Common machine learning toolkits including iPython, Jupyter, Sagemaker, and Azure ML;
Experience in video data processing using ROS bag and frame extraction;Demonstrated proficiency in SQL in the context of machine learning development;Background in:Working in a cloud-based environment with PaaS offerings, Redshift, and S3;Using data wrangling and visualization tools including Alteryx, PL/SQL, Azure data explorer, Kusto, Tableau, Kinesis streams, or AWS Glue data pipeline;Working on machine learning toolkits and cloud offerings including Python, Pytorch, Tensorflow, Jupyter, AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML, OpenCV, or tsfresh;
Well versed in data preprocessing, ETL pattern recognition, dimensionality reduction, creation and evaluation of machine learning, statistical analysis, and anomaly detection using languages and tools;Demonstrated expertise developing and productionizing models using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics including regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, and natural language processing;Successful track record of:Working independently and creatively while collaborating closely with a diverse team of technical experts and business professionals;Managing time and commitments within a framework of competing priorities;
