Job Summary
Stoneridge Advanced Engineering team is looking for a talented and motivated Data Scientist to enhance our capabilities in understanding and utilizing our data across the entire engineering division. This role will not only focus on vision AI but also on broader applications of data science and AI to solve diverse problems within the company. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing and implementing data-driven solutions to optimize our operations and drive business growth.
Principle Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights.Develop and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms to solve various business problems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data science projects.Work on a wide range of applications, including but not limited to vision AI, cloud-based applications, and other data-driven solutions across the company.Design and conduct experiments to validate hypotheses and optimize processes.Identifying detailed data needs, sources, and structure to support solution development.Communicate findings and insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders through reports, visualizations, and presentations.Work with data engineers to ensure data quality and integrity.Stay current with the latest advancements in data science and AI technologies and methodologies.Mentor junior data scientists and provide guidance on best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.Proven working experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.Experience with manipulating high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources to highlight patterns, anomalies, relationships, and trends.Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.Experience with ML/DL frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).Strong knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis techniques.Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn).Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).Proven experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data for analysis. Plus: Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery) or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) for handling big data.
