Job Summary:
The Senior Project Architect is responsible for leading a project team in the production and administration of architectural projects and ensures that all projects are completed on time and within budget. The Senior Project Architect is responsible for each project's success and the satisfaction of the client.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee and contribute to the project design and the production of documents by the project team. Coordinate the design of the project with the design staff. Responsible and accountable for performance of entire project team.
Provide necessary resources and timely decisions to each staff person under their direction for efficient staff performance.
Monitor the work of Architects, Architectural Associates, and Interior Designers, and coordinate the work of the consultants on the project team.
Assist the Business Development staff in the pursuit of projects, nurture relationships with clients, and promote the firm's image through community involvement.
Assist with preparation of project proposals, budgets, schedules, and contracts.
Assist in making staffing assignments by projecting staffing needs and monitoring progress.
Be knowledgeable and capable of producing construction documents using Revit in conformance with the office drawing standards.
Prepare written specification manuals.
Create and update the code review and produce contract documents which are consistent with this code review. Communicate with building officials as needed to clarify code interpretations.
Assure contract documents carry out the established design intent.
Keep Supervisors apprised of employee performance on projects for the purpose of assisting them in performance reviews, recognition, and training.
Check all designs, drawings, specifications, and correspondence for accuracy and conformity to project standards and applicable codes.
Administer and evaluate project bidding, recommend contract awards, and direct the preparation of Owner/Contractor agreements.
Coordinate construction administration services (if included in project scope) and ensure appropriate documentation/communication with client during construction phase.
Assist Owner and Contractor in resolution of disputes during construction phase. Notify principals of construction conflicts to allow for timely intervention of firm management in the resolution of construction problems if needed.
Conduct periodic follow-ups with client during warranty period to confirm completion of services and verify owner satisfaction.
Maintain professional registration in the State of Nebraska. If required, maintain NCARB certification. Stamp all contract documents with State Registration Seal prepared under their direction, per State Registration laws.
Work with Architectural Associates to ensure they achieve systematic progress in AXP categories through varied involvement in the experience categories.
Mentor all members of the project teams.
Required Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in Revit.
Thorough knowledge of construction detailing and quality standards.
Education and Experience:
Licensed architect in the State of Nebraska.
10+ years of architectural experience.
