If so, then a career as a Power Electronics Engineer in PACCAR Global Powertrain Division is for you! Within a new team of highly talented engineers, you will find yourself designing safety into Electrical Vehicle Systems for all of PACCAR’s worldwide Vehicle divisions. This position will take a global approach and requires collaboration within diverse cross-functional and multicultural teams. PACCAR is eager to advance its product line of zero-emissions powertrains, and this is your chance to assume a critical role in supporting that effort.This posting is for high voltage power electronics development, which involves Onboard Charging, DCDC Conversion, AC Inverters, Charge Inlets/Connectors, Charge Control Functions, Fuses, Circuit boards, Circuit Protection technologies, High Voltage Charging and Power Conversion. The positions open for this program will work together in concert with internal expertise and suppliers to develop the next generation of high voltage components. These components enable key vehicle functions of safety, charging, and power transmission to all vehicle electronics. The ideal goal of this development effort is to integrate and consolidate devices into an elegant assembly that optimizes performance, packaging, and cost to support longer range and higher adoption of commercial EV’s.This position is located at PACCAR’s North Texas Office in Lewisville.Job Functions / ResponsibilitiesDeliver the ideation, design, and implementation of new high-voltage power electronics system.Develop component specifications based on system performance targets.Coordinate development activities with prototype suppliers to deliver functional hardware for on-road testing.Support and contribute to the product development roadmap for advanced electric vehicle technologies through collaboration with suppliers and colleagues across the PACCAR global organization.Provide written and verbal updates to communicate status, changes, risks/gaps to vehicle program timelines and identify opportunities for improvement.Less than 25% travel is expected.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering or Business is preferred.More than 8 years’ experience in automotive and or aviation engineering translating new ideas and concepts into prototypes through detailed design processes is required.More than 8 years’ experience with electric vehicles or high voltage electronics components is preferred.Demonstrated ability to collaborate across diverse teams to meet objectives and timelines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to deliver technical presentations and written reports to diverse audiences.Willingness to grow personally and professionally, ready to learn and make use of new processes and techniques.
