We hope you decide to join our team!This Employee is responsible for providing technical integration solutions for planned and projected activities of the Florida Department of Health - Hillsborough County (FDOH-HC). This position will provide technical research and consultation prior to the implementation of any server technology and to ensure it complies with the Florida Department of Health Standards and that it will operate properly in this network environment. The position is also responsible for conducting research and development of technologies that will enhance or provide additional business value to the existing system. Furthermore, this position is responsible for promoting a secure network through education of customers and periodic audits of sites and processes.Your Specific Responsibilities:Ensure and verify that all FDOH-HC operating locations converged networks and systems are fully operational and ready for daily business use.Develop and provide system usage reports for each program area and respond to requests for unique reports for the Senior Leadership Team or for incident reporting.Provide technical direction and guidance to Senior Leaders / Program Managers on system capabilities and limitations and implement those technologies that will enhance our business operations as well as meet the needs of each program area.Provide technical direction and assistance to local technical staff on systems problem resolution and system outage troubleshooting procedures.Assess the effectiveness of our converged systems and related hardware and software currently used and ensure it complies with all local, state, and Florida Department of Health standards.Perform quarterly audits of the virtual environment and associated components to evaluate the overall effectiveness of these systems.Assist in performing an annual audit of all telephone and fax lines that are separate from the FDOH statewide digital network and convert, if possible, these lines to the statewide network to reduce operational costs.Resolve digital communications outages using diagnostics equipment and troubleshooting procedures within established communications restoration parameters.Conduct growth forecasting on all system and network components to ensure resource availability.Ensure site UPS Systems are operational and appropriately maintained.Patching and updates are performed at the first availability that does not impact customer access.Act as the default information custodian for network, server or other technical documentation.Perform quarterly disaster preparedness assessment and testing of all telephone system components within the FDOH-HC network.Participate and assist in our Annual Disaster Preparedness Exercises and document all activities performed during the exercise and assist in the development of the exercise After Action Report.Provide immediate assistance for any/all computer and/or Server virus infection event and continue support until the virus infection has been completely eradicated and verified.Promote and encourage network security through technical skill and proactively increasing customer knowledge.Perform related work as required.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:1-3 Years of experience in Network and Server Systems Administration.1-3 Years of experience in Voice over Internet Protocol Technologies preferred.1-3 Years of experience in operation and maintenance of the Windows Server 2012-2019 Operating System or newer.1-3 Years of experience providing outstanding customer service and service delivery.Ability to manage time for maximum productivity.Ability to work independently or in a group setting.Ability to diagnose Windows Server Operating System problems.Ability to identify and assign IP network addresses in accordance with FDOH policy.Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot voice communications systems and components in POTS or IP media.Ability to perform network data restorations utilizing FDOH approved software.Ability to install, analyze, and troubleshoot category 5/6 or UTP cable.Ability to utilize assigned equipment to troubleshoot category 5/6 or UTP cable.Ability to install or troubleshoot RJ11 and RJ45 cable terminations.Ability to deploy, diagnose and troubleshoot Local and Wide Area Network components.Ability to visualize, assemble and organize tasking.Ability to document in detail all activities conducted in support of customers and organization.Attention to detail and the ability to complete assignments.Ability to communicate and coordinate all activities.Ability to execute National Incident Command System tasking.Qualifications:Minimum1-3 Years of experience in Network and Server Systems Administration.1-3 Years of experience in operation and maintenance of the Windows Server 2012-2019 Operating System or newer.1-3 Years of experience providing outstanding customer service and service delivery.Preferred1-3 Years of experience in Voice over Internet Protocol Technologies.Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Administrator in the Windows Server 2012 – 2019 environment.Certifications such as CCNA, Security +, Network +.Where You Will Work:Work Location - Main Building, Tampa, FL 33602The Benefits of Working for the State of Florida:Working for the State of Florida is more than a paycheck.
