Job Description
Possess a thorough understanding of the functions of the major components in the Pipeline Process Control System. This system (OASyS) is a System Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. Responds to system failures and performs corrective measures as required. Enhances and maintains the SCADA Operations Control Center EnvironmentManages projects, trouble calls and/or operational support. Understands Pipeline Operations in order to be able to configure applications like Leak Detection, Batch Tracking, Metering, Scheduling Interface, Meter and Tank Ticketing, Station Balance, Hydraulic Profile, and Pressure Point Analysis.Understands UNIX operating system and its administrative requirements. Installations of initial release, upgrades, third party software, and new disk drives. Configures file systems, network, printers, serial devices. Creates user accounts, customizes, X-windows System, user support. Ongoing support of backups, system security, system performance monitoring, and Shell scripting.Starts stops and installs a SQL Server, allocates resources, creates, drops and enlarges Sybase databases, data placement of these databases. Creates and manages SQL Server login accounts, configures SQL Server, maintains regular backups and restores as needed. Monitors, tunes and troubleshoots SQL Server. Database maintenance in adding, deleting, maintaining points, and maintaining database integrity.SPECIAL SKILLS:·Operations are performed 7 days a week 24 hours a day; therefore, continuous support is required.·Knowledge of Tank Gauging Systems and the calculations performed.·Ability to consistently use a standard set of related principles, methods, tools, and techniques to manage projects successfully.·Strong communication skills with ability to report on work activity.·Understanding of Industry Specific Standards such as AQMD, DOT and API standards.EDUCATION:EXPERIENCE:·Minimum 5 years of SCADA Systems experience including Relational Database (Sybase preferred) and UNIX (AIX preferred) expertise required.
