As a Director of Infrastructure Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector in Collaboration and Communications Product Line, you manage one large area or multiple smaller ones with advanced technical knowledge to resolve complex issues. Exercise independent judgement within general guidelines and parameters to determine appropriate actions.
Job responsibilities
Manages technical areas within infrastructure engineering, collaborates with others across different technical areas, and anticipates the needs of multiple disciplines within the function
Manages and implements corporate and divisional operational plans and provides broad direction to teams, team leads, and supervisors
Manages key senior stakeholders and ensures teams deliver in accordance with compliance standards, risk and security, service level agreements, and business requirements
Conducts market research and tracks industry developments regarding productivity, collaboration, data, AI/ML solutions and understands implications to product vision and strategy. Partners with product counterpart on the product's definition, product roadmap & customer facing SLOs/SLAs. Prioritizes the product backlog & maintains a vision for the product
Develops and executes the function’s objectives with accountability for outcomes.
Handles staffing, budget, and relevant profit and loss
Mentors and coaches junior engineers and technologists
Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
Experience managing infrastructure engineering teams. Strong engineering experience designing and deploying trader voice solutions across a global estate
Demonstrated success in an engineering management role with an emphasis on delivering trader voice solutions to end users
Deep understanding of the trader voice product lifecycle, including product strategy development, customer engagement, architecture design, engineering, implementation, and operations
Extensive knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies
Strong understanding of product, software and engineering methodologies and practices (SDLC, Agile, Scrum, etc.)
Knowledge of infrastructure engineering technologies and programming languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
Exposure to managing budgets
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience writing technical stories in JIRA/confluence using industry standard notations
