Showing 1 locationWe are seeking an agile and trailblazing leader to serve as our Associate Director of IT Infrastructure (“Associate Director”). The Associate Director will evaluate and integrate new and emerging technologies to enhance infrastructure operations and drive innovation, fostering a high-performance, collaborative work culture aligned with a bold, forward-looking vision.The Associate Director will oversee the architecture, design, implementation, and management of the IT infrastructure and network, including daily operations and support. The Associate Director will develop and execute a comprehensive IT architecture and infrastructure strategy that ensures availability, scalability, performance, and security across the firm’s network, systems, and infrastructure. As a key member of the IT management team, the Associate Director will ensure high-quality support and customer service to internal clients, providing leadership and management across IT Infrastructure services. Additionally, the Associate Director will contribute to the maintenance, testing, and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and collaborate with the IT leadership team to implement robust data security measures that protect sensitive information.The ideal candidate will bring relevant operational and leadership experience within a professional services environment and proven success in the design and management of network services for hybrid and multi-cloud environments.ResponsibilitiesImplement an overarching strategy and framework in emerging technologies to enhance the enterprise security posture and provide new and enhanced customer experiences for firm personnel and clients.Define and deliver strategies and solutions for network systems transformation, including vision, roadmap, and governance model for a collaborative, scalable organization.Integrate emerging technologies and innovations, ensuring secure, anytime, anywhere access to data for internal and external applications.Oversee the technical architecture and infrastructure including networking, systems administration, virtual, SaaS and cloud platforms, and desktop environments.Manage the planning and implementation of storage architecture, systems backup, replication, and redundant infrastructure.Lead and develop a technical team to provide network systems solutions, including selection, recruitment, training, and performance management and fostering a culture of increased collaboration and continuous improvement.Manage key strategic vendor partners and oversee vendor performance, upgrades, and updates.Assess the latest market trends and evaluate how they may be incorporated to ensure infrastructure and network design aligns with industry standards and best practices.Perform proactive capacity planning reviews of network systems resources to support the growth and goals of the firm.Provide technical support escalation for Network Operations team and manage technical change management activities.Build and maintain relationships within the technology department to develop a clear understanding of business needs and ensure effective delivery of infrastructure services.Oversee configuration, maintenance, and support of network equipment and performance; proactively manage resolution of serious and complex problems, identifying underlying causes and performing corrective action appropriately.Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and develop procedural documentation.Partner with IT Operations, Applications, and Security teams for continuous updates and knowledge-sharing in service of innovative and rapid solutions to the firm’s end-users.Communicate effectively within and across teams, including providing regular reports to the Chief Information Officer outlining the status of projects and other initiatives, including problem resolution.Assist in annual budget planning and cost optimization with IT leadership.Ensure appropriate coverage for emergencies and holidays.Direct or lead IT infrastructure project initiatives as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related discipline.10+ years of experience in progressively senior user support roles within a law or other professional services firm.Experience managing and building successful technical teams.Hands-on experience in designing, building, and managing network services for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including hybrid SD-WAN and network modernization.Experience in designing and implementing networking for major cloud service providers such as Azure.Experience with software defined infrastructure and technology optimization, including hybrid and cloud migration strategy, planning, and implementation.Proven success as a project manager for complex IT and multi-disciplinary projects.Demonstrated ability to effectively motivate, lead, train, develop and coach IT professionals and users.Demonstrated ability to drive world class client service and work effectively at all levels and across all teams.Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to lead through influence, find business solutions, and resolve interpersonal conflicts.An appreciation for Foley Hoag’s core values of excellence, service ethic, collegiality, and inclusivity.Flexibility to work outside standard business hours as needed including early morning, nights, weekends, and holidays.Willingness to travel to other office locations as needed (moderate travel required).Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs, with some stretching and bending required.Compensation range is $180,000-$215,000
commensurate with related experience and qualification. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, specialty, and training.
