www.ucihealth.org.Your Role on the TeamPosition Summary:The Unit Secretary keeps the department running with their administrative support. Unit Secretaries act as a focus of communication in the nursing station. Their duties include assisting patients when they arrive at the department for care, fielding phone calls to the unit, maintaining, filing and organizing patient records, working with other departments to coordinate care services and managing office/medical supplies for the department. The Unit Secretary must be familiar with and adhere to Regulatory Standards and UCI Health-Fountain Valley Policies and Procedure.What It Takes to be SuccessfulRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Recent acute care experience preferred.Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.Conditions of Employment:The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
